hahahah..finally i hv my own blog which i think this is quite bckward as most of my frenz alredy own one. just to share my experience handling my eldest daughter, Alyssa. After 3 months of having headaches sending her to school - Sri Kamariah kindergaretn as she will cry every morning (pity my hubby!), finally starting this month, she, for the first time is really happy and excited going to school starting from early in d morning, waking up, taking her shower, having her breakfast, in d car and until finally reaching d school gate, she will smile, laughing while having conversation with her daddy..for some maybe they don't hv this problem but for me n husband, this is like a big accomplishement for us as parents. The teachers at school are also suprised and delighted with the changes.
Before this, i will always had discussion with the teachers and my husband regarding this matter tryin to figure out how to make her happy goin to school like other kids. we even buy 'rotan' to 'educate' her and i locked her in the store room just to make her promise not to cry going to school for the next day (which i regret after that n end up cryin).
Until one day, after sending her n adriana, my husband called me n said 'by, after skul, can u juz stop by d bookshop n buy for me a calendar n some stickers'. i just like wondering what r we goin 2 do with all those stuff. As an explanation to that my husband said that the nite before he read articles on parenting in Readers' Digest and all of a sudden he get this idea and juz want to hv a try. Suprisingly, IT WORKS!.. we told Alyssa that if she doesn't cry, she will get 1 star and if she goes to her Iqra' class, she will get another star and she will paste the stars herself on this special calendar...
And today, after a week, it is nice and rewarding seeing her waking up in the morning looking at her smiling at me feeling excited going to school because of the STAR!.I wish if we had done it earlier, i don't have to scold her or make her cry..but for me it is a sweet accomplishement and to my hubby..We Made It!
